Life in Newbridge

We here in Riverbank are delighted to welcome a very special exhibition to brighten the walls of our boardroom, Life in Newbridge.

In order to capture children’s views about living in Newbridge and to inform he preparation of a new Local Area Plan for the town, Kildare County Council’s Planning Department hosted an art competition titled ‘Life in Newbridge’. An open call was made to all local schools for children to express their artistic impression of any aspect of life in present day Newbridge and what the town means to them.

The Local Area Plan team received almost 200 entries, illustrating many themes that our young people felt were important to them such as family, friends, home, school, play, shopping, nature and the environment. These themes will be considered by the LAP team in their upcoming Draft Newbridge Local Area Plan 2025 – 2031.

The Life in Newbridge exhibition features the original versions of each entry, as illustrated by the children, and will be with us on display in our boardroom from Tuesday 16 – Saturday 27 April.

Stop on by to see some of the burgeoning artistic talent that Newbridge has to offer! School groups are especially welcome to come and view the pieces they’ve created, hung with pride on our walls.

In the meantime, see a selection of the beautiful artworks exhibited in the slideshow below.
