PANEL DISCUSSION: Invisible Cords/Sacred Conversations

FREE, booking essential‘Sacred Conversation’ explores the seen and unseen cords that underlay our instinctual engagement with art and humanity, the spoken and unspoken words between people.
Clodagh Kelly (Visual Artist) and Claire Hawkes (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist) will discuss the ‘Sacred Conversations’ which permeate our conscious and unconscious interactions with art and humanity. Chris McMahon (The Treatment Room) will offer insights based on his healing practice.
Panel Members:
Claire Hawkes is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist who worked in a mental health organisation for twenty years. She now works in private practice. She is a member of the professional psychoanalytic organisations in Ireland.
Chris McMahon is owner of The Treatment Room (Maynooth), which offers Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Meditation Classes, T’ai Chi Chuan Instruction, QCT Energy Healing, Chi Kung Tuition, & Taoist Philosophy insights.
Clodagh Kelly studied Fine Art at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Trinity College Dublin, National College Art & Design Dublin and National University Ireland receiving a Masters in Arts 2007. Previously Clodagh explored themes such as mental health and human rights, working as an artist and educator within the Irish psychiatric youth and adult services for several years. Philosophy, sociology and history play an intrinsic role in her art practice. After graduating from art college in 1997 Clodagh developed mental illness and was diagnosed by psychiatry with Schizophrenia in 1999. Today Clodagh still ‘Voice Hears’ but does not subscribe to psychiatric conditioning and lives with the belief that ‘Voice Hearing’ is part of her natural state of being. Currently human value, creativity, protection, addiction, war and materialism are themes Clodagh explores through Painting/ Drawing/Mixed Media Installation.
