Riverbank Arts Centre is delighted to present a new programme for Post Primary Schools this Spring which includes a range of online interactive events/workshops and a return to live events and activities in our theatre.

LIVE PERFORMANCE:
A VERY OLD MAN WITH ENORMOUS WINGS (23 March) Adapted from Gabriel García Márquez’s short story, Dan Colley and Riverbank Arts Centre bring this classic piece of magical realism to the stage in search of its beautiful, strange, emotional richness. A highly theatrical piece, the production features live music, handheld cameras and innovative use of puppetry.  Ger Carey is back with A COMIC JOURNEY INSIDE THE TEENAGE MIND (17 May), his popular comedy performance for TY students. We have included details of two theatre productions that are part of our general programme – Patrick Kavanagh’s TARRY FLYNN (15 & 16 March)  a new ambitious production with a cast of 9 performers and MAKING A MARK  (1 & 2 April) a documentary style, autobiographical piece that places the voice and lived experience of an artist with an intellectual disability front and centre stage.

PETIT PAYS/SMALL COUNTRY (26 April – FRENCH) is set against the backdrop of the Rwandan conflict – This powerful tale explores the  topics of ethnic tensions and identity through the eyes of a young boy, of both French and Rwandan heritage, just struggling to make sense of it all.
