Farewell to our Programme Manager Alex Rosiak
It is with a mixture of gratitude and sadness that we today announce that our Programme Manager Alex Rosiak will be leaving Riverbank Arts Centre. Alex has been an invaluable part of our team for the past 15 years, infusing our arts programming with creativity, dedication, and a passion that has profoundly impacted our venue and the community that we serve.
Alex joined Riverbank Arts Centre fifteen years ago, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective on the arts. From the outset, she demonstrated an uncanny ability to curate programs that resonated with our diverse audience, seamlessly programming different art forms whilst also introducing us to and advocating for new and exciting artists.
“Alex has been an integral part of Riverbank Arts Centre for the last 15 years. She worked very closely with Board, particularly during her three terms as acting venue manager, and will be greatly missed by us all. She brought drive, energy and creativity to programming and leadership of the organisation throughout her time here. On behalf of current and past board members, we wish her well with this new chapter, and are very grateful to her for unwavering commitment over the years.” Paul Davis, Chair on behalf of the Riverbank Arts Centre Board
“Alex has been brilliant colleague and strong advocate for the artists we work with at Riverbank Arts Centre. She will hugely missed by the whole Riverbank team and the artists and organisations we work with. Kildare’s loss is Offaly’s gain, as she’ll bring her brilliant and extensive arts knowledge and experience to this new role. The impact of her 15 years commitment to Riverbank Arts Centre will be felt for many years to come.” Caroline Williams, Venue Director
Reflecting on her years with Riverbank Alex says: “It’s amazing to think I have worked at Riverbank Arts Centre for 15 years, including the last three years as programme manager, as acting venue director in previous years and as BO & FOH manager when I first started here in 2009 – Riverbank has been a huge part of my life! Over the years I’ve learned invaluable lessons about teamwork, strategic planning, budgeting, working on long-term arts projects and managing an arts venue – which was one of my early dreams, when I first started in the arts industry in Poland. Working in an arts venue is a vocation and my passion for arts and culture has always been fuelled by the creativity and the passion of those I worked with – a fantastic team, a supportive board, all the artists and arts professionals I met along the way and our audiences. I am so proud of what we have achieved together and I will miss the spontaneity of the work and the generosity of such brilliant colleagues, but I am also excited about the challenges ahead. Thanks to everyone and best of luck!“
As Alex prepares to embark on a new journey with Offaly County Council, we will reflect on the significant strides Riverbank Arts Centre has made. While we are saddened to see her go, we are also excited about the future. Alex’s departure marks the end of an era but also the beginning of new possibilities for Riverbank. As we bid farewell to Alex, we are committed to building on the strong foundation she has laid. With that in mind we are inviting applications for a Programme Manager, and we are eager to welcome someone who will continue Alex’s legacy of innovation, inclusivity, and diversity.
