Handel in Ireland, is Caitríona O’Leary and Dúlra’s celebration of Handel’s sojourn in Ireland in 1742 and presents Irish music of the time, songs and dances the composer may have heard, and Handel’s compositions re-imagined by some of the world’s leading traditional and world music stars.

Near the end of his stay he travelled to Cork. He stayed in the great houses and would have been entertained by local musicians. His musical curiosity would undoubtedly have ensured that he familiarised himself with Irish music in all its forms.

The concert was the hit of the Handel Festival in Halle, Germany in June 2015.
