Samhain Twig Art Workshop with Ciaran Burke

In this workshop Ciarán Burke will demonstrate the technique and participants will draw from the ancient festival of Samhain for inspiration. Samhain is a Celtic festival that sees the door between our world and the world of the spirits open, it is a time when we can open our minds to inspiration from nature and explore our creativity.

Each morning Ciarán will read a traditional Irish tale associated with the festival. Themes from the story may provide inspiration for the sculptures, and give an insight into the festival of our ancestors before it became known as Halloween.

The participants will get to make a small sculpture to bring home and also participate in the making of a larger sculpture as a collaboration.
