Inspired by true events at Ridgeview Academy, a medium-security correctional school in Colorado, Hard Miles follows beleaguered social worker, Greg (Matthew Modine) as he, and an unlikely crew of incarcerated students, embark on a seemingly impossible bike ride from Denver to the Grand Canyon.

Hoping this arduous journey will transform the misfit teenagers into a well-disciplined cycling team, Greg’s efforts will ring hollow unless he can apply his principles of moving forward to his own life and make amends with his own family. In the sweltering desert, battling heatstroke and exhaustion the team will reach a crossroads and face a fateful decision about all of their futures, testing them to see what they are truly capable of, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
