Luka Bloom is one of Ireland’s most respected contemporary folk artists. Having produced over 20 albums since the 1970s, he continues to push the boundaries of what his music can do.  Born into a very musical family, Luka is the youngest of six and grew up in Newbridge. This hometown gig is one not to be missed!

“I may be living in County Clare, but Newbridge is my home town. I did my first gig when I was four in The Palace Cinema,
A little later, I learned to swim in the Liffey by The Strand.
Everywhere I go Newbridge follows me, And is always a joy to return to the town of my youth.
I will walk the Strand, drink tea with my sister Terry, then prepare for a special night in Riverbank Arts Centre.
I will sing The Man is Alive, in honour of my father Andy. And we will share many songs, and a good few stories.
