Puffin Rock Workshops (7-11 years)
Saturday 6th April, 2024 - 12:00
Puffin Rock Habitats is an exploratory journey through four enchanting habitats – Marine, Intertidal, Grassland & Wetland. This immersive learning experience will be led by the beloved characters – Oona and Baba – who introduce us to the rich diversity of plants, animals, and their intricate relationships within and between each habitat.
As we explore each habitat, you will uncover exciting sensory surprises! The activities embedded and facilitated within each habitat installation will help us collectively understand what makes these places “happy-homes”!
The workshops bridge the captivating narrative of your favourite Puffin Rock characters with the fascinating wilderness of Ireland’s coastlines. Witness the blending of fact and fiction, and use these workshops to continue the learning journey out in the field, in your own backyard or a habitat near your home.
Through your participation in raising the awareness of our natural heritage, we aim to inspire effective conservation and ecological well being. Parents and educators play a vital role in guiding child-centred explorations of local landscapes and their interconnected habitats. The story and exhibition serve as tools to connect with the characters and the diversity they represent, ultimately encouraging participants to venture into nearby grasslands, beaches, rivers or ponds to explore and care for our native biodiversity.
