So This Is Christmas is the latest documentary from award-winning Irish filmmaker Ken Wardrop (His & Hers). This thoughtful, emotional film looks at the lead-up to Christmas from the perspective of five different individuals & families from the Midlands – from a single mother trying to make ends meet, to an older woman facing the prospect of another Christmas alone.

You’ll struggle to find a more moving and honest film about the realities of the festive season. Wardrop – with his trademark mix of empathy and warm humour – explores the emotional, financial and social challenges of Christmas. These stories are heart-breaking and tinged with tragedy, but the film also emphasises the moments of joy, kindness and resilience experienced on the way to Christmas Day.
