WORKSHOP: Abstracting the Landscape with Niamh Hynan

€10Join visual artist Niamh Hynan for an evening of abstracting the landscape. In this workshop you will be encouraged to create your own landscape painting.
The practice of gestural abstract painting is energetic and engaging. Niamh will guide you through methods of creating gestural marks and forms that will capture the essence of your landscape. Colour will be an important part of the finished piece.
Participants are invited to bring a photograph of a landscape (1 or 2) they would like to use for this workshop. Please wear suitable clothing/apron as this is a painting workshop.
About the artist
Niamh Hynan is a visual artist from Carbury, Co. Kildare. She studied Art, Design and Mixed Media in Ballyfermot Senior College, Fine Art degree in Painting in DIT and a H.Dip in Art and Design Education in NCAD. Niamh has been a Secondary art teacher and state examiner for the Junior Cert for twenty years.
Niamh’s new body of work titled ‘Grounding’ is concerned with abstraction and is heavily rooted to the land. Her work captures the essence, energy, and evocative mood within nature.
Niamh Hynan is a member of Visual Artists Ireland (VAI), Kildare Art Collective (KAC) and the Art Teachers Association of Ireland (ATAI). She has exhibited extensively in Ireland and has been awarded a number of art grants and bursaries from Kildare County Council Arts Service. She received an artist residency in Cill Rialaig in Co.
